CCSVI Procedure now available in Los Cabos, Mexico for MS sufferers

MS sufferers are now able to receive treatment at the Clinic of the Heart in Los Cabos, Mexico. No longer will it be necessary to travel to distant lands pay exhorbitant prices or endure long waiting lists to receive the care that can enhance the quality of life. The “liberation procedure” a surgical intervention that is used to clear the blocked veins that are consistently found in MS patients and are the basis of  the findings of Dr. Paolo Zamboni regarding the cause of MS, called CCSVI (Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency), which states that MS is caused, in whole or in part, by the abnormal narrowing of veins in the vascular system that drains the central nervous system (the jugular and azygous veins). The procedure is now performed by an experienced team of specialists headed by Dr. Rafael Moguel, the Director of the Clinic of the Heart in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico who is an Interventional Cardiologist since 1992, with training and expertise on cardiac and extracardiac procedures including the brain.
Dr. Moguel is a fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention (SCAI) among others. Need help? contact info@cardioabroad.com or Dr. Moguel directly at: cathboss@gmail.com

I am interested in this procedure but have a couple of questions. First what is the cost for the procedure, also staying in Los Cabos and the qualifications of the Doctors and training they have in CCSVI?

If you take part in the research and you are found to have the blocked veins would then go on and treat hat is the time period for this study?

    I live in Canada

Thank you in advance for answering my questions.

    Yours truly,

    Sarah Lazar

  38. Carol Smith says:

The CCSVI Liberation treatment is of real interest to me, I currently have MS, was diagnosed in 1994 and in 2003 I had a very progressive relapse and now have Primary Progressive MS.
In February or 2008, I had a Pulmonary Embolism where blood clots released in my legs and logged in my lungs – was placed in a hospital for a month and a half and during that time I lost the use of my legs. So I am wheelchair bound and have to be transfered with a ceiling track from bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to toilet and bath.
I do not have the availability at this time to have the MRI or the Doppler tests to check the neck veins.
What is your procedure for signing on to have this procedure done?

  43. Jackie Stephenson says:

I see alot of questions on here regarding the Cabo treatment centre. My
friend just returned last week from this clinic and provided me with this information and costs:

Flight – depending where you’re coming from. Accomodation – family members travelling with patient stay in a hotel but it’s not overly expensive in Cabo. This cost basically is the same as if you were booking a one week vacation in Cabo.

If patient requires full time care at a hospital (related to MS or other issues but not to the surgery) the hospital cost for a week was $7000. If the patients don’t require hospitalization, they can stay at the hotel with their family.
Treatment was as listed above – $9750 for treatment and $850 for xrays/exam.

I’m hoping to learn more information about this as well and get my brother (RRMS for 8 yrs now) in for treatment.

  44. John Jackson says:

I had Liberation Therapy completed on Dec.1st at Clinic of the Heart in Cabo San Lucas. I could move my left toes and ankle within minutes, the following day I could lift my foot and move it forward at the knee(first time in years). My balance and senitivity to touch improved 80% when tested on Dec. 3rd, I could read two more lines on the eye chart. Christmas day (yesterday) I walked aound all day without getting tired, and using my cane instead of the walker. Each day I notice small improvements, just now I noticed that I have better recall of the letters on my keyboard. Dr.Moguel’s team has restored my hope. The whole team is very interactive and are as pleased with our improvements as we are. My wish came true in Los Cabos thanks to Dr. Moguel, and Dr. Rodrigues I feel liberated. Happy 2011 to all. Many other Canadians were liberated that week and we share success stories via email. It’s a wonderful life!
