Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency 


According to recent multiple sclerosis research, chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI), a condition in which the jugular and azygos veins are blocked, could be one of he causes of MS. Dr. Paolo Zamboni of the University of Ferrera in Italy discovered a link between CCSVI and MS. In fact, Dr. Zamboni has theorized that treating CCSVI can help treat MS. As a result, Dr. Zamboni developed an endovascular surgery called the Liberation Treatment that clears any blockages in the jugular and azygous veins using angioplasty in order to treat multiple sclerosis. In clinical trials, this treatment has shown to be effective in many MS sufferers.
