Multiple Sclerosis Treatment
What are the risks associated with CCSVI-multiple sclerosis treatment?
For many multiple sclerosis sufferers, CCSVI-multiple sclerosis treatment has offered new hope for improved health and quality of life. Dr. Paolo Zamboni has developed an endovascular CCSVI-MS treatment known as the Liberation treatment after his multiple sclerosis research indicated that CCSVI may be one of the chief causes of MS. Although CCSVI hasn’t been confirmed as one of the official causes of multiple sclerosis, his findings show a strong correlation between CCSVI and MS. Dr. Zamboni’s procedure uses angioplasty to clear blockages in the jugular and azygous veins to improve blood flow between the brain and spinal cord and heart.
In CCSVI clinical trials, the Liberation treatment has been shown to be successful in treating multiple sclerosis. At Clinics of the Heart, we’ve performed Dr. Zamboni’s multiple sclerosis treatment on more than 350 patients. Many have seen drastic improvements in their overall conditions within the first week of treatment. However, as with any surgical procedure, the CCSVI-MS treatment does carry some risks, including:
- Allergic reactions to foreign substances, including contrast dye and sedatives
- Pain
- Bleeding
- Bruising
- Thrombosis (clot formation)
- Vessel rupture
In some cases, corrective surgery may be needed. Also, some patients have experienced restenosis, a condition in which the blockages return. Our clinicians will discuss these risks with you in detail before the CCSVI-MS treatment is performed.
At Clinics of the Heart, we’ve performed many Liberation treatments successfully. After receiving CCSVI-MS treatment, the majority of our patients see marked improvements in their conditions. For many, treating CCSVI and MS is the key to better health. To find out more about our multiple sclerosis treatment, please contact us.
